Adult Credit program leading to your High School Diploma (OSSD)
Our courses offer a focus in English, Mathematics, Science and Social Sciences, with a variety of instructional styles, including blended learning, teacher assisted, self-study and more. Please see below for more information about registration and course options.

Registration Information
We provide expertise in planning to help you earn your High School Diploma, develop new skills for the workplace and prepare for post-secondary pathways that require high school credits.
The registration form is now available online in a user-friendly and streamlined format.
Step 1: LOG INTO YOUR ACCOUNT or NEW STUDENT Create your Online Enrollment Account
- If you do not have an account, you will need to create one. Click on "Create Account" to get started.
- If you have an account, enter your personal email address and password to log in and begin a new registration form submission.
- Can't remember the password for your account? Click on "Forgot Password?" and follow the steps to access your account.
Step 2: Complete the Online Registration Form and Submit supporting documents
Prepare the following documents to accompany your online registration submission. All documents must be originals and in English (or certified translation).
- Upload a copy of your Birth Certificate or Passport directly to the form. Note: driver's license, health card, phone/retail bill are not accepted.
- Upload a copy of your proof of immigration status for non-Canadian born students directly to the form.
- Additional Citizenship or other supporting documents, if applicable
- Upload a copy of your transcript/credit summary sheet from previous school.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Please complete all required areas on the registration form. If there is any missing information, the form will prompt you to complete these before you can submit your form.
- Under Verification , choose New Student .
- Under Program Selection, select Adult Education before proceeding to complete the rest of your registration information on the form.
- When adding your Contacts, these are the people who the school will contact in the event of an emergency, you can add up to three Contacts.
- After submitting, ENSURE to click SAVE AND SIGN OUT (located at the top right hand corner).

A $50.00 refundable registration deposit payable via SchoolCash Online or an Education Referral Letter from Ontario Works will also be needed.

Course Options
Credits While You Work Program
The Credits While You Work Co-op Program lets adults who are employed and cannot attend day school, the chance to gain high school credits toward their Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) while being paid for work.
How the program works
How the program works
- For every 110 hours on the job you gain one credit
- Credits are earned by meeting the requirements/expectations of the job
- Interested candidates must be at least 18 years of age, not in high school, enrolled in St. Patrick, and already employed in a paid position for at least three weeks.
- Candidates who are accepted in the program must meet with the co-operative education teacher at least once (can be physical meeting, virtual meeting, or some other form of communication).
- Candidates must have two forms signed by multiple parties to start the program (if eligible): The Work Education Agreement Form and the Employer Agreement Form.
- Students will be given a welcome/introductory package that includes things such as an hour tracking sheet, reflection forms, etc., to help them in completing these credits.
- As soon as these forms are signed, hours of paid work can start to count toward credit(s)
- In the Credits While You Work program, students must complete and submit some assignments for learning/grading purposes.

Regular attendance is strongly encouraged.

Lessons are posted online, in order for you to keep up with the work while at home. You can also shift to fully online correspondence class if something happens that requires you to miss too many classes.

Teacher Assisted Guidance Courses
Students may enroll after they have completed an intake meeting with one of our Guidance Counsellors.
Details:
- Best for student needing Grade 9/10 compulsory credits or refreshing their core subject skills.
- This option is best for students who can work on their own but need some teaching assistance.
- Offered both part time/full time during the day (1 or 2 credits).
- Students can start the program anytime.
- Attendance is not mandatory; however, students who participate regularly are more likely to complete a course in a timely basis.
- Can accommodate students who work from home.

Grade 9 / 10 PLAR ( Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition)
Fast track through missing grade 9 and 10 compulsory credits by completing PLAR for mature student assessments. As part of this process, you are required to take one of the Grade 11/12 courses below (Workplace Level).

Continuous Entry - Teacher Assisted/Online Correspondence Learning
These courses are offered online with the option of meeting with a teacher one evening a week for support.

- These courses are ideal for students who work full-time or need specific courses to upgrade for College, or who want to complete their high school diploma at their own pace.
- This option is best for students who can work on their own but occasionally need teaching assistance.
- All content is online and teacher assistance is available one evening per week.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Will my life, work, college and/or university experiences count towards earning credits?
Yes! The School offers PLAR (Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition) for mature students, where a Guidance Counsellor will review your transcript, and discuss your goals to determine how many credits can be granted.
Are there classes available for someone who works?
Yes there are! St. Patrick Adult & Continuing Education strives to meet the needs of adults in our community with several instructional styles, teacher assisted online. Please see above for a full list of course options.

I am an English Language Learner, how do I get started in credit?
Before beginning any credit classes, you will need to have a CLARS English Language Assessment or have earned English as a Second Language credits offered at a School Board. Adult ESL students must have reached a minimum CLB of 7 in all 4 skills or take the bridge to Credit program. Credit courses have very high levels of reading and writing components and students entering with lower levels are not generally successful.
